Master of Orion Subreddit Talks Enslaving Different Races

Have you tried this tactic before in Master of Orion Conquer the Stars?

In the subreddit for Master of Orion Conquer the Stars, many players like to discuss their tips, tricks, and tactics. Today, one user brought up a particularly interesting tactic that they’d employed in Master of Orion 2, asking other players whether or not they’d utilized this strategy themselves in Master of Orion Conquer the Stars.

Reddit user HumpieDouglas posed the question like this:

“So I used to use this tactic in MOO 2: You conquer say a Psilon colony set as many Psilons to farm as possible so they breed like crazy. Then from that planet you use civilian transports to ship Psilons off to be scientists on other worlds. Psilons for example have the 50% science racial bonus and any Psilons scientists in your empire retain that bonus so they make better scientists than your own race. You can do the same thing with the Meklar and Klackons (though Meklar are better) for your industry and the Gnolams for $$$$," they explained.

I did this all the time in MOO 2 and was glad it was kept in MOO 2016 The one thing I'm not sure about is the Bulrathi. The Bulrathi have a ground combat bonus so I want to take a Bulrathi colony and start breeding them. Then create Troop Transports on that planet. I'm hoping the Troop Transports built on that planet will be full of Bulrathi so I can use them as shock troops during an invasion of enemy territory. I have yet to test this last piece and was wondering if anyone else already has and if it works or are Troop Transports, no matter where they are built, filled with your own race? It would be cool if it worked the way I want it to.”

Several users commented their own thoughts and strategy tips, which we found pretty interesting. User LostThyme commented:

“I liked filling a toxic planet with my race and sending captured Silicoids there, which gave me a message saying they'll all die on arrival, but it opens up population space for them from being tolerant. Even better with the Sakkra. Being subterranean there's always ten extra population points worth of space on every planet for them. It made them literally my societies underclass. I'd like them to make the uber planets race specific for inhabitation and not just for transformation. So if I capture a jungle world the extra open cells it has over a swamp world will be usable only by Sakkra. Makes even more sense for the Silicoid. Going from volcanic to inferno for anyone else seems like it would actually be worse.”
